Product Tip Tuesday: Official Adaptive Live 2014 Packing List

Vintage suitcase on a car roof.

Adaptive Live is set to kick-off in one week, so we’re putting a unique spin on “Product Tip Tuesday” today. Our Adaptive Live packing list isn’t exactly product focused, but it certainly includes a helpful set of tips for the 800+ finance pros scheduled to attend.

Note this doesn’t include a list of San Francisco essentials. So even though we didn’t include a windbreaker to combat the infamous evening breeze off the San Francisco Bay, or durable walking shoes to hike up and down San Francisco’s downtown sidewalk slopes, both are highly recommended.

1. Planner/Organizer
Adaptive Live will have more breakout sessions and networking opportunities than you can fit into a single day. Check out the conference agenda ahead of time and fill out your personal planner with your highest priorities. Just make sure to leave time for personal meetings with our executives and/or tech experts, and schedule them ahead if possible.

2. Smartphone & Charger
Adaptive Live will offer many photo and video-worthy moments. That means smartphones are essential, especially for joining the social media conversation on our Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter pages, using #ALive14.

Social media is the fastest way to get the info you need about upcoming sessions while you’re at Adaptive Live. We’ll also be giving away baseballs autographed by keynote speaker Billy Beane and Starbucks gift cards exclusively for the top attendee social media content!

So pack that smartphone, and bring a charger of course. There’s nothing more annoying than your phone dying mid-Tweet.

3. Questions
You’ll find Adaptive team members everywhere at our user conference. Challenge them with your best technology questions, or schedule an in-person Wizard Bar session with one of our top tech experts.

No time in your schedule for a one-on-one? Join our Virtual Wizard Bar Q&A on the Addicted to Adaptive Blog by posting a question at any time during Adaptive Live. You can even ask to receive an email notification when someone on our team has posted an answer to your question. While the in-person sessions are ideal for those of you who have specific questions about your own Adaptive model, our Virtual Wizard Bar is the perfect place to get general technology questions answered.

4. Business Cards
Over 800 corporate finance leaders will be at Adaptive Live this year. This is the perfect opportunity to build relationships with other leaders in your space and learn how they’re maximizing the value of Adaptive. So pack a healthy stack of business cards to give to those you meet in San Francisco. You can also join our Adaptive Live Discussion Group on LinkedIn to get an early start.

5.       Energy & Curiosity
Make sure you’re well rested leading up to Adaptive Live, and be ready for some late nights. This holds especially true for Tuesday night, May 20, when we’ll be celebrating a blast from the past at the San Francisco Exploratorium with a 1980’s-themed Weird Science party!

From 7 – 11 p.m., you’ll discover this interactive, scientific funhouse along the San Francisco Pier, and quickly learn why this 21st century laboratory is called, “the most important science museum to have opened since the mid-20th century.” The Exploratorium also an exclusive member of the Adaptive 2,000.
